At Deccan Delights we believe food should feel like something more than just a meal. It should remind you of where you came from. It should make you feel welcome. That is why we opened our doors — to bring the real flavors of Indo-Pak cooking to Chicago and to share what we grew up loving.

Back home in the Deccan region food was always a big part of life. It brought people together. It made tough days better. Every dish meant something. That is the feeling we want you to have when you eat here.

Julia Child once said People who love to eat are always the best people and we truly believe that. Our kitchen is full of that same love — from the way we marinate our meats to the way we make our naan soft and warm every time.

One of our favorite quotes is from Vir Sanghvi who said You do not need a silver fork to eat good food and that is exactly how we feel. Good food does not need fancy things — just real ingredients patience and heart.

Deccan Delights is not just a restaurant. It is a little piece of our history our family and our flavor. As Anthony Bourdain once said Food is everything we are... your region your tribe your grandma and that is what you taste here — a little bit of all those things.

What makes Deccan Delights special about isn't the food—it's the feeling. We believe in preparing every dish as if we're serving our own guests at home. From aromatic Hyderabadi biryanis to richly slow-cooked biriyani, from sabzian perfected to the spiciest kick, everything we put on the menu, is prepared in the same time-honored fashion we feed our own family.

After moving from Hyderabad to the U.S., Shakir found that the world loved spices and Pakistani cuisine but lacked, but in essence. He was born to sharing his family recipes with love, even the deepest respect for the experience and a strong belief that food could unite hearts be called Deccan Delights was personal.

Shakir is today famous not only for his distinctively bright, but for his hospitality, trust-heart, and flattery all quality. If he is not in the kitchen experimenting with a new meals mix, he is educating visitors with a smile.
